The UK is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of frozen Russian holdings to support Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the decision would be implemented in tight collaboration with the US.

United Kingdom sanctions have frozen more than £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian funds had solely been drawn from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their aim to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the seized Russian sovereign holdings to conclude the conflict.

He noted that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Russia.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union officials convened in Copenhagen recently to consider utilizing immobilized Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump encouraged international partners to seize or utilize immobilized Russia's assets, according to reports.

The value of frozen Russia's assets in the European Union is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow launched large-scale bombardments throughout Ukraine on recently, causing blackouts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, the city, and several other zones.

Several persons were lost their lives and at least 20 people were wounded in the strike, authorities in Ukraine stated.

In a message on social media after the attack, Zelensky wrote that the cynical and calculated attack targeted public and utility structures.

"The necessity is not empty words but decisive action - from the United States, EU, and the Group of Seven - in supplying anti-aircraft weapons and implementing sanctions," he emphasized.

"All penalty impositions undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the Purl programme, under which Nato countries buy arms from the America to provide to Ukraine.

While praising the United Kingdom's firm backing for Ukraine, he said it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the program, as well as impose further sanctions on the Russian Federation.
