Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
