Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
